Betty Elsass

President

Betty grew up in the Wapakoneta/St. Johns area and is a graduate of Wapakoneta High. Betty worked for Westinghouse Electric Corp., Aerospace Electrical Division for 10 years before joining the US Postal Service, District Office as secretary to the District Manager then transferred to the Contracts Department. Betty retired with 31 years of service retiring in 2002, Betty then joined Mercy Unlimited as the assistant to the Executive Director in 2003 for 7 years. Betty then joined the board of directors in 2017 where she now serves as board president.

Kay Ault

Vice President

Kay is married to her husband Richard and mother of 4 adult children and now resides in Cridersville, Ohio and attends St. Marks Lutheran Church. Kay is a retired office manager. Kay is an active volunteer in our ministry volunteering on a weekly basis and has served on our board of directors since 2016 and currently serves as vice president.

Michael Brady

Treasurer

Michael was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and has been in Wapakoneta since 1999. Michael has been married to his wife JoAnne for 37 years, and are blessed with two children, Jack and Erin, as well as three awesome grandkids, Brayden, Liam and Savanna. Michael attends St Joseph’s Catholic Church where he was a past member of Parish Council, Finance Committee, and is currently a Liturgical Minister. Michael is past owner and President of Apex Bag Company and is recently retired from 40 years in the Packaging Industry. As a result of his recent retirement, Michael enjoys playing Golf and Pickleball on a regular basis, as well spending time with his grandkids. Michael joined Mercy Unlimited in 2011, and has been Treasurer for the last 10 years.

Jill Jarvis

Secretary

Jill Jarvis has lived in the Wapakoneta area for over 30 years with her husband, Mark. They have two adult children. They are members of St. Paul UCC in Wapakoneta, and they enjoy hiking and working on their property. Jill was an educator for many years and taught in the Spencerville and Wapakoneta school systems. Jill joined the Mercy Unlimited Board of Directors in 2016 and is the current secretary. She is honored to support the Mathew 25 mission of Mercy Unlimited in its service to the people of our local community.

Cindy Colaprete

Member

Cindy was born in Arkon, Ohio and moved to the Wapakoneta area in 1982 from Carrollton, Ohio but as the daughter of a 27 year military veteran, she was blessed to have the opportunity to see the world and has lived in Germany and Turkey as well as several different states. She is a member of The Holy Face of Jesus Parish (St. Joseph Catholic Church) and participates there in the Alpha program, serves as a church lector and devotes an hour of prayer to the Eucharistic chapel once a week. She also maintains a schedule for Loaves and Fishes for the home deliveries as well as its delivery volunteers. She enjoys cooking and baking. Cindy recently retired in January of this year (2024) after 35 years as a customer service representative for Apex Bag/ProAmpac. Cindy joined our board of directors in 2020.

Babrara Barnhart

Member

Barbara Barnhart has lived in the Wapakoneta area her whole life. She is the 5th generation to grow up on Headapohl Farms, which is south of town. She and her husband, John Barnhart live in Wapakoneta proper. Barbara has built her career in the financial advising field. Working for JP Morgan Investment Corp. for 19 years and now US Bancorp Investments for the last 10 years. Helping individual and business make financial plans and decisions to meet their goals for the future. Barbara and John are active members of Harvest Baptist Church here in Wapakoneta. Barabara is still very active in her roots of farming, as her husband, John farms and operates their confinement meat goat operation. Barbara has been a board member of Mercy Unlimited since October 2021. Stewardship and philanthropy are very important to Barbara. She is always looking and guiding others to higher visions. Jesus Christ wants us to be a caring force to give people a hand up and encourage others that through Him all things are possible.

Michael Westbay

Member

Michael is our newest member of the board, joining us in May 2024. Michael is married to Nancy and they share two children,3 grandchildren, and one great grandson. Michael comes to use with non profit experience as the chaired the Mercy County AMCAC. Michael joins our board wanting to help serve our communities and a means to help people come to understand God's love. Michael has spent 30 years in ministry as a pastor. Michael has worked in public education at but in primary and college level education.
